The vast interdependent networks of wealth and value creation that have emerged were only possible in their progressive sedimentation of complexity and order in direct proportion to the disorder and waste products that are also generated as a logical and material or physical necessity of such systems of symbolic communication and commerce. It is a strange blind spot and unacknowledged functional discontinuity of this civilisation that impoverished individuals, groups and cultures are endlessly blamed for their own existential distress but, beyond the potential of that perennial possibility for poor decision-making from which abject destitution or impoverishment often enough might occur, the causes and continuity of such inequitable wealth distribution are functionally structural and endemically psychological in nature.
