  1. Like tautologies, the only things that can be proven by a formal theorem of logic are trivially true. Truths that are of any consequence to us are unprovable. We must accept them axiomatically but we must accept only the minimum set of axioms that might enhance our survival. Axioms, like beliefs, are a vulnerability.
