Humanity: clearly a “work in progress”, but are we actually building or procedurally disassembling ourselves ? We probably need to be able to disassemble previous structures to recycle their elements, components and conceptual vocabularies into the raw materials from which to build new structures and systems. Being barely able to keep up with accelerating rates of change and its associated technological and cultural friction, our shared Global mesh of bureaucratic inertia and administrative entanglement might entail that we never actually manage to complete anything at all before beginning the process of pulling things apart again and attempting to rebuild something else.
