General reflection – binary opposition:
Most constellations of word pairs, bundled vocabularies and variously symmetrical semantic dichotomies in our linguistic experience represent gradients of difference. This presence of idiomatic antitheses generates ambiguity, uncertainty, confusion, miscommunication.
However, we should never just observe the words and the variously transient sociotechnical vocabularies that orbit them. I have been studying language, among other things.
Contradiction and unresolvable tension are endemic and seem to be necessary properties of any communications system or information processing organism.
This is a generative discontinuity. In regards to binary dichotomy, living and dying, epistemology and inarticulable metaphysics, language fails to capture the essence of non-orientable dynamical systems topology. (All encodings are partial maps.)
We require bonded dichotomies in language to generate tension, turbulence and entropy. The system dynamics of bonded antitheses are fascinating.
These entangled pairs percolate to ascendance in communication, forming vocabularies like interdependent sets. Those systems of resonant vocabulary, cadence and implicature possess identifiable, measurable symmetries.
