I read the news today. Political polling in Australia shows growing support for One Nation, and much of it looks less like conviction than drift: people moving with the technologically mediated flow of grievance, disaffection, institutional distrust, and vague alienation. The institutions are often ridiculous. The frustration is not imaginary.
But grievance is not diagnosis, and momentum is not wisdom. A population can be right that something is broken and still be led toward explanations and remedies that make everything worse. This will not end well. End of transmission.
