Cybernetic Seduction

Wittgenstein once opined that “philosophy is a battle against the bewitchment of our intelligence by means of language.” I am starting to wonder if cybernetics might not be a battle against the seduction of our minds by technology.

The transmission medium and feedback mechanisms of language and technology become the primary methods of influence as an open invitation to opportunity and innovative self-determination. That the solution to technological problems is itself more technology is really quite instructive.

Fields and waves of communicative entropy and future shock periodically engulf all stages of civilisational iteration. At this point I think a significant difference is that the technologies (and languages) are beginning to interact with themselves at scale, to programatically generate and recursively amplify their own autonomously self-propagating sociotechnical weather patterns of complex value, risk and integrative utility.
