(My own) unnecessarily grandiose and/or unsubstantiated generalisations notwithstanding, the effervescing efflorescence of meaningless communications system noise is a core function and mechanism of sociotechnical self-regulation at the “global”, Gestalt or planetary civilisation scale. An ocean of entropy and dissipative recombinatorial turbulence self-validates the organisational teleologies, such as they are, that already exist. The primary mechanism of system self-replication (and self-regulation) is that the accrued errors and systemic faults that provide purpose are simultaneously those distributed, generatively recursive discontinuities that legitimate the purpose and direction that individuals and (partisan, tribal) organisations subsequently acquire.
The TL;DR: errors and trivialities are serially reproduced (and amplified) because the turbulence thus produced provides the target and goal towards which organisational (and ideological) systems vector. The broken things provide purpose, so we reproduce them.
Consider the (topical) role of adversarial competition and conflict in this. The global system maximally reproduces itself through the production of the errors that validate the epistemological and cultural systems that lead us (all, and inexorably) into conflict, aggression and war. At the global and unified or holistic and communications-system level, we inhabit a profound dependency upon error, fault, insecurity and uncertainty.
Meaning (and teleological purpose) is in this way anchored upon meaningless noise. Inconvenient truths and (Other) enigmatic tesseracts or Rube Goldberg-like sociobiological mechanisms, an occasional series: meaning is grounded in meaninglessness.
