Horror Vacui, Guru Version

Spirituality more broadly seems to have been seduced by a personality cult that opportunistically misrepresents and all too easily misunderstands messenger and signal as isomorphic with message, quite agnostic of the significance of any particular narrative. This is an elementary projective narcissism, identifying individual with an essentially inarticulable metaphysics of Other and world that is critically dependent on an ineradicable faith beyond knowledge, outside experience, conspicuously absent as what is only ever a symbolic closure and irreducible ambiguity in language.

A guru is a communicator that dissolves themselves in the inordinate complexity and concurrent simplicity of any act of communication; it is a performative act of vanishing. But then, as the Big Lebowski would suggest, that’s just my opinion…

…message must in some sense precede messenger, or any other advocate and referential asymptote of systems of belief. Intelligibility is by all of this quite unwittingly dependent upon its own potential non-existence, a systems property immediately and counter-intuitively addressable as paradox. Significant, because we know (but can not quite understand the significance of a result in logic to the effect) that there will always exist unprovable truths.

This is the epistemological vacuum that propels our planetary human experiment forwards, accelerating.
