The greatest human tragedies predominantly occur because of our differences, because of the distances between our various philosophical, ideological and political positions and interpretations of the world and each other. Ironically, that space and contested territory between us is also (arguably) where the most interesting ideas evolve, where the most profound art and creativity is born and where the most fascinating and engaging relationships and social complexities emerge. This particular silver lining is the boundary condition between binary opposites and the perceived (or projected) ominously dark storm clouds are more a result of an inability to cope with the existence of difference and to acknowledge the inevitability of change.
