Any sufficiently progressive or revolutionary assertion can only ever initially appear in its emergent cultural context as (an instance of) insanity. To dive deeply into transformative concepts is also in some regards to invalidate much of the conventional wisdom upon which rational and mild-mannered everyday life rests. Most innovative inertia and political or institutional hesitation is generated by psychologically-instilled creative ineptitude and a reflexive fear of difference, subjective dissolution or rupture and the existential confrontation embodied by narrative discontinuity.
