The answer to an “or” question is yes whenever at least one of its alternatives is true. “Is it A or B?” Yes. A may be true, B may be true, or both may be true. The only way the answer is no is if neither is true. This is why logicians should never be allowed near ordinary conversation: ask one whether they want tea or coffee and, strictly speaking, “yes” is a perfectly respectable answer.
A OR B is true if A is true, B is true, or both are true.
