Snakes and Ladders

Gravity here, as snakes, is a function of entropy and the intrinsic higher probability of descent into lower states of energy as higher states of disorder. It is always easier to make mistakes than to successfully solve the complex problems life confronts us with.

Thrown into a world for which none of us are or could ever be fully prepared, we are compelled to engage the interface levers, buttons and switches of culture and interpersonal complexity which always, always represent some potentially duplicitious and risky game of snakes and ladders. There are of course more snakes than ladders, though, and as a function of logic as much as of entropy we can expect that the paths to disorder and catastrophe will always multiply and proliferate faster than the paths to order and success.
