A cunning plan. I’m going to suggest that self-inflicted existential desperation makes strange bedfellows of technologies and autocrats. The strangest of all being the expected benefits of socioeconomic, cultural and ideological self-enclosure.
Radically decentralised cryptocurrencies acquire value and utility as a function of the degree to which they remain unregulated and, in some measure, unregulatable. This will not be the first nor the last time that an autocrat seeks to leverage technologies that are at core anathema to their own totalising self-interests; social credit systems are likely much less pliable than a superficial analysis suggests.
Semantic systems (in or as language and communication) function quite similarly, in regards to the distributed properties and constructive self-sustainment of binding systemic properties and teleological aspiration. The problem for distributed semantics is that it does not exist in the discrete, measurable domain that operations within language require.
Existential dilemmas in autocratic self-management serially cycle around problems of how to negotiate internal systemic entropy. By isolating themselves, they seek power and control. I suspect they will experience accelerated decay.
