Beauty, like life, is all the more magnificent for its transient radiance. If we lived forever we might never value what time we have. Similarly, if youthful flourish and beauty lasted indefinitely – we would probably place little value upon it. George Bernard Shaw may have been at least partially correct when he opined that “youth is wasted on the young” but for all of that, let us hope we waste it well, not poorly and that in looking back upon our own youth we see something (and someone) that we would love to have been…
