It is staggering (and blissfully unacknowledged) the extent to which this world of ours and all of its many anthropomorphic catastrophes are all quite simply occurring within and emanating from these brains between our ears. If one day we manage through an exquisite (but not entirely improbable) act of aggregate foolishness to extinguish ourselves and much of life, all of the insecurity and the bitter irony will vanish along with us. Humanity, in this scenario, may prove itself to never have been quite clever (or wise) enough to resolve its own manifold internal conflicts and inconsistencies. For whatever complex reasons of collective personal, political or psychological immaturity or inadequacy, the human mind appears rather poorly equipped to successfully negotiate the rising tide and cost of the consequences incurred by its own arrival and turbulent existence in the Universe.
