…and escaping the old ones is a monumental task when a bad idea, once entrenched, becomes the source of it’s own self-propagating rationale and serves as a limiting filter on the percolation of new cognitive methods and new conceptual paradigms through the hierarchies and bureaucracies of our world.

The problem is that we usually feel compelled to invest or attach ourselves to certain ideas. Professional scientists usually know better than to do so. They should realize that today’s theory may very well become fodder for tomorrow’s dustbin.
