This formulation provides a way to analyse polarisation, ideological formation, institutional cultures, online communities, disciplinary knowledge and linguistic change without requiring a privileged global definition of normality. Instead of assuming a single centre from which all positions can be measured, it treats centres as locally emergent features of changing communicative distributions. This extends the more general claim of Field Logic that systems begin not with separate things but with relations, differences, delays and dependencies through which temporary identities become possible.
Communicating systems tend towards regions of greater relational probability. These may be understood as attractors, but not as fixed states, semantic positions or ideological centres. They are fuzzy, continuously displaced concentrations within a changing distribution, where recurrence increases the probability of further recurrence. Systems consequently accelerate towards locally emergent centres even as their convergence alters those centres. In this sense, an attractor is closely related to the logical orbit: persistence does not require preservation of a state, but the repeated reorganisation of probability in ways that favour continued relational organisation.
Communication occurs within a local frame. Any communicating entity, whether a person, community, institution, language or symbolic system, occupies a finite position within an effectively N-dimensional field of interacting processes. Each adjusts to changes elsewhere while contributing to those changes. The equilibrium towards which a local system moves is thus displaced by the movement towards it. What emerges is persistent approximation: attraction without final arrival. This is also necessarily temporal. If communication is the establishment, maintenance or modification of temporal relations between processes, and time is the finite propagation of relation, then every adjustment arrives into a field already altered by other adjustments. Delay is not interference with convergence. It is one of the conditions through which dynamical organisation exists at all.
The resulting structure is manifold-like. Each process encounters a local relational neighbourhood, while overlapping neighbourhoods approximate a larger topology that no individual frame contains. Communication propagates across these overlaps despite differences in local coordinates, meanings and distributions. There is no necessary privileged global coordinate system, and the topology is continually reorganised by interactions within it. A position that appears as an outlier in one distribution may consequently occupy the dense centre of another. What appears from one frame as departure from normality can appear from another as convergence towards it. Meaning behaves similarly: it is not contained within a word, proposition or object, but emerges through organised relations across a distributed field. Different local semantic centres can consequently coexist without requiring one final semantic frame from which all others are judged. At the scale of the system of systems, the structure changes. The larger field also approaches an attractor, but not another determinate state or location within the topology. Its attractor is closer to a state between states: an organised uncertainty from which determinate states remain possible. This connects directly to the binding absence developed in Field Logic: A Primer. Difference persists because relation never resolves completely into identity; the unresolved interval is not a defect but part of the structure that keeps organisation generative. Uncertainty here is likewise generative rather than merely informational absence. Semantically, meaning exists through relation to alternatives that remain possible but unrealised. Logically, a state is distinguishable through relation to states it is not. Difference requires a surrounding possibility space.
The system thus exhibits two simultaneous movements: local convergence and global generativity. Constituent processes approach locally coherent equilibria while their interaction prevents those equilibria from becoming final. Local trajectories converge towards transient attractors while reorganising the larger relational topology. Identity, meaning and persistence can then be understood as different expressions of the same process at different scales: organised relations recursively reproducing themselves without ever becoming perfectly identical to their previous state, a broader ontological claim developed in reality. The system approaches equilibrium locally while reproducing non-equilibrium globally. This allows ideological, institutional, linguistic and cultural formations to be compared without first declaring one of them the universal centre. The relevant questions become: relative to which distribution, through which local frame, sustained by what relations, and towards which shifting attractor is the system moving?
