Their apparent solidity is produced by repeated coordination rather than shared essence. Culture persists where enough processes remain mutually entrained to reproduce a recognisable order despite continual internal variation and external change.
Large language models are statistical approximations to the geometry of this manifold. They do not contain language as a fixed archive but model the probable transitions through which linguistic structure reproduces itself. Their fluency arises from sensitivity to the dominant contours of the field: its attractors, regularities and recurrent phase relations. In use, they do more than generate text. They feed those historical probabilities back into composition, accelerating the recursive continuity of the language system through the authors who engage them.
