The current US President destabilised one of the most tightly coupled junctions on Earth, then seemed surprised when the consequences spread. The deeper problem is that political, ideological and socioeconomic systems often reproduce themselves through the disorder they create.
A system persists not by preserving what it is, but by continually reorganising the probabilities of what it can become.
What sustains the dynamical relations from which persistent structures emerge?
Science has not stopped discovering reality. We have become less capable of surviving what those discoveries imply about ourselves.
